I became a mum to my son in my early thirties, just before Covid hit. On maternity leave, I spent hours and hours every day walking in the park devouring copywriting and business podcasts. And I felt like I’d been struck by a bolt of lightning – I knew I could make a real difference to businesses and their brands through copywriting and creative strategy.
So I set up Holly Thomson Copywriting straight away and left agency life behind. The business grew quickly and I was soon working with an amazing mix of clients (including small local firms, companies from around the UK, and some global names). Within the first year, Liz joined the business. Bringing incredible and complementary skills and experience, she’s added a new dimension to our service and its growth and has been a key driver behind our success. Our client base is rich in diversity and includes work with a world-famous motorcycle company, as well as a global mobile phone network.
We write high-quality, well-researched and thoughtful copy for websites, brochures, newsletters, and packaging – all of the brand’s touchpoints. We help businesses create a powerful brand strategy through their tone of voice, personality, story and positioning. This helps them to connect with their dream customers and increase sales. We love making other people’s business dreams come true!
My business partner, Liz, is the brains behind our latest innovation – Word². Businesses are also employers and have a need to communicate as effectively internally as they do outwardly to their paying customers and clients. We saw an opportunity to create a service that gives businesses everything they need for the best internal comms they’ve ever had – using her unique blend of knowledge and expertise in communication, copywriting and workplace culture improvement.
